It’s been awhile so please be gentle! Last night I decided to load up C4 and go for a ride, I started with a v15 disc, did a clean install and created a new account with nova(as my old one was deactivated :regan: ) did an update online(via nova) all seemed to be working ok until I actually tried to login and play. I get the login screen put in my username and password, the screen changes to “logging in” then after about 2 seconds umm Buh-bye the game completely closes dropping me back out to a desktop. Thinking maybe it was my old version, I went diggin thru my boxes and dug out a new and still sealed v20 (don’t ask I have more then you care to know) On a different pc with a different connection I created a new account with the new never used cd key using a email address nova has never seen(figure maybe its me there after :saint2: ) Same thing “loggin in” and poof c4 closes itself. I finally got impatient and rewrote my startup.htm and bada bing I got a server list. I can join another game, or host one with no problems, only seems that logging in is an issue. It has been awhile (over 2 years) so maybe I’m missing something, or maybe there is no more nova login support for C4 (I did notice the “come and get it” server is gone now) I don’t know so I thought I’d ask.

hmmm, selct a alternative Login.htm, you can with this over a Bypass join up Nova.

Her, select the C4 Get Player Manager http://www.checkpointdelta.net/cgi-bin/db.cgi?db=file&uid=default&Game=C4&sb=1&so=ascend&view_records=1&mh=16

Humm I havent logged in to c4 in years, I do know the newer games still use the log in.

I updated the game to restore the game to default, I get the same issue you do now. So it must be Nova.

Interesting, kinda seems as though they have shut it down, odd considering its still on the shelf for sale!! Also explains why ya dont see many new folks Im sure. Thanks for testing it out Reaper.

You'll never get an answer from nova , if you do get 1 , play the lotto that same day..:wink1:

I tried the same thing and it sends me back to my desktop also.. I can join and host as well Inso. Who know's ....

Well I filled out the support form that told me to wait a half hour for an email copy if I did not recieve an email copy that support would not be assisting me with my problem. That was 3 hours ago :shocked2: and no automated response lol I guess they are not going to help!! Anyone got an 800 number for em? maybe someone with a better standing with them could try, as I think they are still alittle pissed off with me.......:argue.gif:

and yes I used a valid email! valid enough that it sent me spam when registering with the stupid as...... oops forum on the site over there.

Think they will refund my money :lol:

Well I am also having the same problem, but it happens when I click on the server list, then it boots me to desktop, so my guess would be the startup file not sure what the other are using now day to log in to auto by pass the login but I have been looking for one to see if that works, but no luck yet.

Animal, open your startup.htm file in notepad, clear all the text then copy and paste this into it, then save. Youll be all set.

Also noticed the "come and get it" server is back up in the lobby now, guess they havnt completly bailed on it yet.

you are very welcome sir! and that I know of in the past 5 years since I started playing this game in 2001 they havnt showed ANY interest in it(publically) they did an under the table release of version 20 without any announcments whats so ever!!!! only way to get it orgianlly was to rebuy the game in the action pack as a matter of fact i still dont think the online update will get you to v20. any ways, I got used to being ignored. lol

Well that login worked i can get in and play. I also had sent them a letter like a week ago about it and still nothing.

Im sure it's become the norm to use a custom startup.htm bypassing the login, but I would think to some degree nova uses this information to track the popularity of the game(you may be kinda of cutting off your nose despite your face). I have in the past used a bypass startup file but limited my use of it to when their server's were acting up. If enough time passes without enough users logging in they may just up and decide to kill it!

Running c4upd8d, and the v20 tkoth patch exe. I have not tested with the Comanche 4 Expansion Pack V6.1 installed yet, but will install it and retest after work then repost.

SAI was in for practice at 930 pm east 26 Sep. we had no problems. Stock C4.
